The tithe consists of setting aside ten percent of all our earnings.

God established the tithe since Melchizedek king of Salem had an encounter with Abraham the father of faith, and he gave tithes of everything. When he was returning from the defeat of Chedorlaomer and the kings who were with him, the king of Sodom came out to meet him at the Valley of Save, which is the Valley of the King.  Then Melchizedek,_cc781905-5cde -3194-bb3b-136bad5cf58d_king of Salem and priest of the Most High God, brought out bread and wine; and blessed him, saying: Blessed be Abram of the Most High God, creator of heaven and earth;_cc781905 -5cde-3194-bb3b-136bad5cf58d_y blessed be the Most High God, who has delivered your enemies into your hand. And Abram gave him a tithe of everything.  Génesis 14:17-20

The tithe must be given separately from the offering, since the offering is a token of gratitude voluntary and the tithe is an act of obedience.

Bring all the tithes to the storehouse and there is food in my house; and test me now in this, says the Lord of hosts, if I will not open the windows of heaven for you, and pour out blessing on you until it overflows. Malachi 3:10

When we offer and tithe we are honoring the Lord and God will pour out on us a blessing over abundant.

Honor the Lord with your possessions, and with the first fruits of all your produce; And your barns will be filled with abundance,

And your presses will overflow with must. Proverbs 3:9-10
